I wanted to explore the patterns of nature that are all around inside the life of literally in my own backyard. The amazing variety of shapes and sizes and colors that are taken in by the senses too much at one time. A mosaic of elements. Flattened, overlapping, broken apart and joined together. From the Latin word fractus, fractals are an efficient in generating visual complexity from simple shapes. Biological processes micro-organisms to atoms invisible forces can be visulized.
My inspiration for some of the images is Georgia O’keffe. They are characterized by organic, especially floral and other plant-inspired motifs, as well as highly-stylized, flowing curvilinear forms.
